Honoring Our Heroes

May 26, 2012

Join us as we honor those that defended and liberated our islands…

From Pearl Harbor to the landing beaches of Guam and Saipan, from the Kohala Coast of the Big Island to Pago Pago, American Samoa, people across the Pacific Islands will be honoring the memory of those that gave what Abraham Lincoln called “the last full measure of devotion.”

At Pu`ukohola Heiau National Historic Site on Hawaii Island, the park is hosting a special program today from 10:30am to 11:30am to honor the more than 50,000 marines that served on the island during World War II. In commemorate the 50th anniversary of the USS Arizona Memorial and in honor of Memorial Day, World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument will be hosting a number of events at Pearl Harbor. In honor of those that fought and died, War in the Pacific National Historical Park on Guam will be offering special programs throughout the weekend.
