Weeeeeeee!!!!
A Humpback Whale breaches off of Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site this morning (1-12-13). The waters in the area are part of NOAA’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.
Why do Humpback Whales breach? We don’t really know, but it could be just for fun! (If you weighed 80,000lbs, wouldn’t you want to see how big of a splash you could make?)

These people are probably about 5 to 6 feet tall…that whale is about 40 feet long!
