Volunteer Ed Films and Edits the 2012 Tour Operator Training at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park
In July and August 2012, Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park offered it’s first series of Certified Guide Training in an effort to achieve a closer working relationship with tour operators.
The agenda included visits to Jaggar Museum and Nāhuku (Thurston Lava Tube) as well as dialog, discussion and conversation pertaining to current breaking science research and the rich, ever-evolving Hawaiian culture of this land.
Ed Shiinoki was asked to memorialize the training on video. Ed, (who can’t say NO), graciously accepted the task not fully realizing what he was getting himself into.
Overnight, Ed became Director, Cameraman, Film Editor, Sound Engineer and Producer of this video project. The editing took over 2 weeks.
The final video after cuts and edits is a whopping 4 hours and 45 minutes long, spans 3 dvd’s and the quality is top notch!
Nice job Ed!
