Volunteers Down for the Count
Over a dozen volunteers and visitors gathered once again at Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site this morning for the third and final Sanctuary Ocean Count for 2013. The park is one of more than sixty such sites scattered throughout the Hawaiian Islands where volunteers help monitor humpback whales. This community program is conducted by the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (NOAA). This is the final volunteer event for this year’s count.
We hope to see you…and the humpback whales at the 2014 Sanctuary Ocean Count!
