Mount ‘Alava Trail Temporarily Closed for Three Days
The National Park of American Samoa will temporarily close the Mount ‘Alava Trail to all travel on April 9, 10, and 11 for emergency repairs. This work is necessary to allow safe passage to the summit of Mount ‘Alava for the maintenance of television and radio equipment. The Mount ‘Alava Trail will reopen on April 12.
The national park maintains the three and a half miles Mount ‘Alava Trail to provide local residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy and experience American Samoa’s unique tropical rainforests, fruit bats, and native birds.
