National Park’s R/V Poge

April 18, 2013

The The National Park of American Samoa recently received its newest addition to our boat fleet. The 24 foot Boston Whaler will be used as our primary research platform to monitor and protect American Samoa’s coral reefs and marine environment.

This newest addition to our fleet has been christened the R/V Poge named for the Brown Surgeon fish (Acanthurus nigrofuscus) which populate the reefs surrounding our National Park. The R/V Poge is the sixth addition to our marine boat fleet in American Samoa.
