Pearl Harbor is home to the newly established Valor in the Pacific National Monument. We remember the attack on Pearl Harbor that ignited the involvement of the United States in WWII, but how many remember why the place was called “Pearl Harbor”? Ranger Daniel from the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial traces the place name back in time to the original Hawaiian word Momi.
