American Samoa Area Health Education Center Visit

June 25, 2013

AHEC Summer group with NPS Interpretive staffProgram Coordinator Ms. Sailitafa Samoa of the American Samoa Area Health Education Center (AHEC), along with students of their summer program were able to visit the National Park of American Samoa earlier today. Ms. Samoa and her students marvelled at the Visitor Center exhibits, learned what a “National Park” is, watched a documentary, and completed their very own Junior Ranger Booklets. To commemorate their visit, Chief of Interpretation and Education Mr. Michael Larson, conferred Junior Ranger badges while Ranger Sam awarded the certificates. A Junior Ranger pledge was administered afterwards to officially make the students Junior Rangers for the National Park of American Samoa. Many thanks to Ms. Sailitafa Samoa and the AHEC program for involving us as part of their summer program
