Did you know? The arid Kona Coast on the Island of Hawaii contains one of the highest concentrations of anchialine pools in the world. These pools, a unique ecosystem that occurs in few places, were sources of water and provides habitat for native species of animals and plants. Lisa Marrack, Marine Ecologist, will present conservation strategies being developed to help pool ecosystems be resilient.

This FREE Reef Talk will be on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 6-7:30pm at Pu`ukohola Heiau National Historic Site Visitor Center in Kawaihae. It is co-sponsored by Sea Grant, Pu`ukohola Heiau NHS, and Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail. For more information, call 326-6012 ext. 104.
