Happy 97th Birthday NPS!

On August 25, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed the “Organic Act” establishing the National Park Service “…which purpose is to conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wild life therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations.”

Over the past 97 years the National Park System has grown from a small handful of western parks to over 400 parklands stretching across every U.S. state and territory.

On this special day, all of America’s national parks are offering FREE admission all day long. So go experience YOUR National Parks for yourself and discover what Enos Mills discovered many years ago:

“Within National Parks is room—glorious room—room in which to find ourselves, in which to think and hope, to dream and plan, to rest and resolve.”

Aloha, Talofa & Hafa Adai from the National Parks of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands!
