Closed Circuit Re-breather Dive Training

September 12, 2013

Our marine resources dive team completed three weeks of Closed Circuit Re-breather Dive Training and Manu’a Islands Inventory and Monitoring survey work. Brett Seymour, chairman of the National Dive Control Board and National Park Service (NPS) Staff Photographer and Steve Sellers, NPS National Dive Safety Officer conducted the training and observed the Manu’a operation. Closed Circuit Re-breather (CCR) dive systems allow a diver to stay underwater for considerably more time verses SCUBA technology. In addition, CCR technology provider a greater degree of physiological safety and has the added benefit of little to no bubbles being produced by the divers.
