Magnitude 9.2: The 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the strongest earthquake to strike the United States. This 9.2. magnitude earthquake and the subsequent tsunamis it generated affected areas from Alaska down through the west coast of Canada and the United States, all the way to the Hawaiian Islands.
